Ordering propane delivery from Tropigas is straightforward. Whether you are a residential customer with a home tank, a business that depends on propane for daily operations, or an industrial facility that requires planned supply, the process starts with a single call. Tropigas operates 23 distribution plants across Puerto Rico and serves all 78 municipalities.
Call 787-641-8002, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, to place your order.
Step 1: Check Your Tank Level
Before calling, check your tank gauge. The right time to order is when your tank reads between 25% and 30% capacity. At that level you have enough propane to wait for your scheduled delivery without risk of running out.
For a 120-gallon tank, 30% means approximately 36 gallons remaining. For a 250-gallon tank, approximately 67 gallons. For a 500-gallon tank, approximately 135 gallons.
Do not wait until the tank is empty. Running completely out of propane requires a safety inspection before relighting appliances, which adds time and cost to your service call.
⚡ Key Fact: For help reading your gauge, see our guide on how to read your propane tank gauge.
Step 2: Have Your Information Ready
When you call, have the following ready: your account number or service address, the approximate level remaining in your tank, and any access instructions for the delivery driver such as gate codes or preferred entry points.
New customers should also have their tank size available so our team can estimate the delivery volume.
Step 3: Call 787-641-8002
Call Tropigas at 787-641-8002, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Our customer service team will confirm your account, verify your delivery zone, and schedule your order.
Residential and commercial customers can receive same-day delivery depending on the time of your call and route availability in your area. Call as early in the morning as possible to maximize same-day fulfillment.
Industrial customers should contact their dedicated account manager to coordinate delivery according to their supply agreement.
Step 4: Prepare for the Delivery
On the day of your delivery, make sure the area around your propane tank is accessible. Clear any vehicles, equipment, or obstacles that could block the driver's path to the tank. You do not need to be present for most residential deliveries, but the tank must be reachable.
If your property has a gate or restricted access, make sure the entry is unlocked or notify our team of the access code when you schedule.
✓ Recommendation: Keep a 3-foot clearance around the tank at all times so our driver can access it safely on any delivery day.
Step 5: Confirm Your Delivery
After the delivery, you will receive a delivery receipt showing the number of gallons delivered and the price. Review this receipt and keep it for your records. If you have questions about your delivery or invoice, call 787-641-8002.
Ordering for Commercial Accounts
Commercial customers including restaurants, hotels, laundries, and retail businesses can set up recurring delivery schedules coordinated with our commercial accounts team. This eliminates the need to call for each delivery and ensures your business never runs low on propane.
To set up a commercial account or discuss recurring delivery, call 787-641-8002 and ask for our commercial team.
Ordering for Industrial Accounts
Industrial facilities require advance planning for propane supply. Industrial deliveries are not placed through the standard call-in process. Your dedicated Tropigas account manager coordinates all delivery logistics, volumes, and schedules under your supply agreement.
If you do not yet have a dedicated account manager, call 787-641-8002 to establish your industrial account.
⚠️ Warning: Never wait until your tank is completely empty before ordering. Running dry requires an additional safety inspection and pressure test before appliances can be relit, adding time and cost to your service call.
