Propane cylinders are the most common way residential customers in Puerto Rico receive propane for cooking, water heating, and small appliances. Tropigas delivers and refills propane cylinders across all 78 municipalities from 23 distribution plants, with over 60 years of experience serving homes and businesses throughout the island.

What Is Propane Cylinder Delivery
Propane cylinder delivery means a Tropigas driver brings a filled cylinder directly to your home or business and exchanges it for your empty or low cylinder. This service is convenient for customers who do not have a stationary tank installed on their property and rely on portable cylinders for their propane needs.
Cylinder sizes commonly delivered include 20-pound, 33-pound, 40-pound, and 100-pound cylinders depending on your appliance requirements.
Who Uses Cylinder Delivery Service
Cylinder delivery is common for:
- Residential customers who use propane primarily for cooking and do not have a large stationary tank.
- Small businesses and food carts that use portable propane cylinders for cooking equipment.
- Customers in locations where a stationary tank installation is not practical due to space limitations.
- Customers who need a temporary propane supply during a construction project or renovation.
Cylinder Refill vs Cylinder Delivery
There are two ways to get a refilled propane cylinder from Tropigas. You can bring your cylinder to any of our 23 plants across Puerto Rico for a refill, or you can schedule a delivery and have a filled cylinder brought to your location.
Bringing your cylinder to a plant is typically faster and more economical. Delivery is more convenient if you cannot transport the cylinder yourself.

Cylinder Safety Requirements
Before refilling or delivering a cylinder, Tropigas technicians inspect it for damage, corrosion, and certification status. Cylinders must be recertified 12 years from their manufacture date and every 5 years after that. The manufacture date appears on the collar of the cylinder.
If your cylinder is expired, damaged, or corroded, we will not refill or exchange it. This is a safety requirement, not an inconvenience. An unsafe cylinder puts your household at risk.
How to Schedule a Cylinder Delivery
