How Propane Home Delivery Works
Tropigas propane home delivery works simply. You call 787-641-8002 to request delivery to your address. Our team schedules a bobtail truck delivery the same day. The delivery technician drives to your property, connects the delivery equipment to your tank's fill valve, and transfers propane until your tank reaches the correct fill level, 90 percent for standard fills in Puerto Rico (80 to 85 percent during summer months per local practice). The technician performs a visual safety check of your tank and connections during every delivery. You do not need to be home for most residential deliveries.
Depending on your tank size, Tropigas will send either a bobtail truck (for stationary tanks) or a domestic distribution vehicle (for portable cylinders). Call 787-641-8002 and we will send the right equipment for you.

Preparing Your Home for Delivery
Getting your property ready for propane delivery ensures a fast and safe service call. Make sure the path from the street to your propane tank is clear of parked vehicles, vegetation, and debris. Confirm there is adequate space for the bobtail truck to maneuver near your tank. If your property has a locked gate or access restriction, make arrangements to allow entry on the delivery day. Make sure the fill valve on your tank is accessible and the dome cover can be opened.
Call 787-641-8002 if you have questions about delivery access at your specific property.
When to Call for Home Delivery
The best time to call for propane home delivery is before your tank runs low, not after. Most Tropigas residential customers call for delivery when their tank gauge reaches 25 to 30 percent capacity. Running completely out of propane requires a safety inspection before the system can be restarted, which adds time and inconvenience. Since Tropigas offers same day delivery Monday through Saturday, calling when you have some propane remaining ensures a smooth, uninterrupted service experience.

Residential Delivery Safety
Every Tropigas residential delivery follows strict safety protocols. Our technicians are certified and trained to NFPA 58 standards. During each delivery, the technician performs a visual inspection of the tank exterior, dome cover, valve assembly, and visible gas line connections. If any safety concern is identified, the technician will advise you before completing the delivery. Your safety is part of every service call.
