What Is Bulk Propane Delivery
Bulk propane delivery means propane is transported in large quantities by a bobtail truck and pumped directly into a large stationary storage tank at your facility. All Tropigas deliveries use the HD-5 grade of propane, which meets the GPA 2140 specification with a minimum propane purity of 90 percent. The Tropigas bobtail fleet serves tanks of 1,000 gallons and above at commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities across Puerto Rico.
All Tropigas propane meets the HD-5 specification under GPA 2140, with average purity above 98 percent verified by independent laboratory testing for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
Who Needs Bulk Propane Delivery
Bulk propane delivery is for facilities with high propane consumption that require large storage tanks and frequent or high volume refills. Typical bulk customers include hotels and resorts, hospitals and medical centers, food processing plants, manufacturing facilities, universities and schools, government buildings, large restaurants and food service operations, and any commercial or industrial facility with a stationary tank of 1,000 gallons or larger. If your monthly propane consumption is high enough to require multiple standard deliveries per month, bulk service may be more efficient for your operation. Call 787-641-8002 to discuss your volume requirements.
How Bulk Delivery Works
When you schedule a bulk propane delivery with Tropigas, a bobtail truck is dispatched from the nearest Tropigas plant to your facility. The driver connects to your stationary tank fill point, pumps the required volume of HD-5 propane into your tank using a metered system, and provides a delivery receipt with the exact gallons delivered. The standard fill level in Puerto Rico is 90 percent of tank capacity. In summer months the fill may be reduced to 80 to 85 percent depending on your municipality. Call 787-641-8002 to set up a scheduled bulk delivery program for your facility.
